St. Avila School

St. Avila School needed an elevator, and Tractus was happy to take on this large-scale project. We began this project for the Pembina Trails School Division in May 2022, while school was still in session! With this in mind, we took extra care to prioritize student safety and to reduce interruptions as much as possible.

The 1.5-million-dollar elevator addition has vapour barrier tie ins, gorgeous brick veneer and terrazzo. This project involved interior assets including accessible and renovated bathrooms, but also outdoor elements such as roofing, canopy, stairs, landings, and sidewalks.

Adding an elevator to a building is no easy feat! It requires an entire addition to the structure and this was a very tight and technical task. We’ve completed many elevator jobs and what we have learned is that no matter how much you plan, you will need to revise, reroute, and use all your powers of coordination to pull it off successfully. Our approach is to take projects of this scale one week at a time. We check in, review, and take pride in getting it right and not making assumptions or cutting corners.

Budget: $1.5 million
