Our project with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba was an innovative $420,000 design-build. This second-floor office space had some obstacles since EGM does not own the building. It took collaboration with, and approval from the landlord in order to move forward, including a code issue that challenged us and the architect to make alterations to the original design.
We have all seen how COVID has impacted the workplace. When we started this job, office use was at about 5%. Manager of Operations, Angela Moore, decided to approach a return-to-office with innovation and versatility. We created a flexible, open environment with non-dedicated work spaces that can be adapted depending on how many employees are using the space. The renovated office space can also act as a coworking space for rent by outside professionals.
One fun feature is the installation of a DIRTT movable/modular wall. These pre-built walls are what allow the office space to transition into different configurations depending on the need. We’re proud of how we contributed to this uniquely versatile and renewed space.
