At Tractus, we believe that thoughtfully designed spaces can foster inclusion and community. The Spectrum is a space created for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies at Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech). Developed in partnership with the RRC Polytech Students’ Association, The Spectrum offers a welcoming and supportive environment for the college’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The Spectrum serves as a dedicated space for students to gather, hold meetings, and host events. Whether it’s a safe place for conversation or a hub for inclusive activities, The Spectrum offers a welcoming atmosphere for all.
This project, completed over the summer when students were away, allowed us to focus on creating a purposeful design with minimal disruption. The end result reflects our commitment to creating environments where every individual feels seen, valued, and supported.
Challenge
This space presented a unique design challenge—a small, corner space located at the end of a hallway.
Solution
Working with the limitations of the environment, the Tractus team turned this space into a vibrant and inviting area by incorporating custom-designed furniture and a bright color palette. The result is an open, accessible space that encourages collaboration and connection.
