We partnered with CanadInns to complete a new Starbucks Coffee location within the Health Sciences Centre. This project involved transforming an existing space in the hospital into a modern coffeehouse that serves both hospital staff and visitors. With Starbucks’ project managers and construction team based out of province, collaboration was key, requiring extensive use of remote technology to ensure successful coordination.
Challenge
Working in a busy hospital presented unique challenges. The Health Sciences Centre never closes, which required work to be done during the day while navigating confined spaces. Delivering supplies and installing equipment required meticulous planning due to the logistical hurdles of working in a hospital environment.
Solution
To address these challenges, Tractus carefully scheduled work around hospital operations, ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities. Remote coordination with Starbucks’ out-of-province team was achieved through regular Teams meetings, leveraging technology for smooth communication. Tractus also efficiently managed the installation of all equipment, including espresso machines, ensuring everything was up and running seamlessly.
