The Cairns Children Centre located in Bonnycastle School needed private offices, a kitchenette, and upgraded washrooms. The previous office spaces were simply desks in the “pit” where the children are. We think their hard-working staff deserve a space free of sticky fingers! This $130,000, summer project had a unique set of challenges. Unlike a school, the daycare never closed during the summer. The kiddos were relocated to the gym as we worked quickly over the span of six weeks beginning mid-July. We faced supply chain issues that saw us getting creative with salvaging obsolete components for temporary re-use. This job was small but rewarding!
